Christmas Eve Dinner 2010

I really enjoy the European tradition of celebrating Christmas Eve, so again this year we had our big dinner on the 24th.
I always try to have something we haven't had before and this year it was quail eggs!







Quail eggs, smoked salmon and cottage cheese on snow pea tendrils.

Avocado, walnut, crispy chilli pancetta salad with caramelised red wine vinegar.

Lamb cutlets with pomegranate molasses and Morocan carrot puree.
(I made the molasses by reducing 1 cup pomegranate juice with sugar and lemon juice)

Zucchini ribbons with smoked feta and sauted pine nuts.
(you don't cook the zucchini, it has a lemon,garlic and olive oil dressing)

This was a real Christmas treat! It is a flourless chocolate cake with a hazelnut and chocolate meringue on top (served with cream and cherries). 
We will be making this again for sure.
