Art - Cave and Dot Painting

Today we created a little art inspired by Aboriginal Cave paintings.
We used hand cutouts and an old brown paper Post bag. We sprayed watery paint (mix of blue, red, black and yellow) from a spray bottle over the cutouts and waited for them to dry.
Below we used the rubber end of a pencil for dot painting, trying to create some patterns as we went...

I also crushed up some yellow chalk and used water and an egg yolk for a binder to demonstrate how paint was made way back then (note: don't add too much water).

We will definitely try the dot painting with the rubbers again, perhaps on a black background next time.
